Making News of the Week: Perth-based BigLaw firm announces JacMac+

It’s fast and furious as Jackson McDonald, an establishment, Perth-based BigLaw firm announces JacMac +.

Jackson McDonald sees JacMac+ as a natural evolution of the firm’s nearly century-long commitment to Western Australia. “We have always been about helping WA to thrive and grow by advising global businesses operating in our state as well as locally-grown organisations. JacMac+ is no exception” says Chairman Richard Sandover. “We believe it’s this connection and commitment to our state that really makes JacMac+ stand-out.”

The initial focus for JacMac+ will be on growing its hub of consultants before placing them with clients in the next couple of months, so the team is looking for expressions of interest and applications from lawyers who are considering working in this way.

Led by Malcolm Shelton-Agar, Jackson McDonald’s managing partner, JacMac+ joins the growing group of Australian BigLaw firms adopting NewLaw variable cost ways, including Orbit, Flex and Lexvoco.

Unlike these firms and others like Pinsent Masons with Vario and Allen & Overy with Peerpoint, Jackson McDonald has taken the plunge and put its name on the new service.

Remember Coca-Cola and Tab?

Which morphed into the hugely successful Diet Coke.
